Russia launched 138 drones of several types against Ukraine during the night of 19-20 September, according to Ukrainian authorities cited by Ukrainska Pravda. The reported attack included Shahed and Gerbera unmanned aerial vehicles and Parodiya decoy drones. The outlet said that roughly half of the incoming drones were jet-powered.
Interception and jamming reported
As of 08:00, Ukrainian air-defence units had reportedly shot down or jammed 101 Russian drones. The figure covers UAVs reported destroyed by Ukrainian defences as well as drones whose operations were disrupted through jamming, rather than identifying a separate total for each category.
Authorities also reported strikes at 17 locations. Debris from downed aerial targets was found at five locations, the report said. It did not identify the affected sites or provide a breakdown of the reported impacts by UAV type.
Attack still ongoing
The operation was continuing when Ukrainska Pravda published its report, with Russian drones still present in Ukrainian airspace. The interception, jamming, strike and debris figures were therefore preliminary rather than a final account of the overnight attack.
The reported drone package combined named UAV types with Parodiya decoys. However, the source did not state how many aircraft of each type were used, which systems were jet-powered, where they were launched from, or which drones were associated with the reported strikes and debris sites.
Separately, the source cited a Ukrainian assessment that Russia had lost 1,560 personnel killed and wounded over the preceding day, bringing its stated total personnel losses to 1,517,990. Ukrainska Pravda presented that figure as background to its report on the continuing drone attack.
