Drones reportedly targeted the Russian military air base in Rostov-on-Don during the night of September 18, according to the OSINT channel Supernova+ as cited by Militarnyi. The reported attack followed a separate drone strike on the airfield the previous night.
Local residents posted videos said to show Russian air-defense systems operating during the incident. Readers of the ASTRA outlet reported that the activity began around midnight, while Rostov-on-Don Mayor Alexandr Skryabin wrote on Telegram at about 2 a.m. that air-defense forces were operating.
The available footage had not been verified by ASTRA’s OSINT analyst at the time of publication. Neither ASTRA nor Militarnyi confirmed damage, casualties, or any operational effect at the air base from the reported September 18 attack.
Second reported incident in two nights
Militarnyi said Ukrainian drones struck the same military airfield on the preceding night, September 17. Following that earlier incident, local residents reported secondary ammunition detonations and shared footage showing a large fire.
